Join artist Patsy Frasier at the League of NH Craftsmen – Meredith Fine Craft
Gallery on Thursday, October 3rd, 2024 from 10 am to 1 pm for an Intro to Dorset Buttons
class.
Dorset Buttons? Yes! It’s a button that was introduced in the early 1600’s in the county of
Dorset, UK. They started in a small cottage industry and were used to add décor to clothing and
to cover small damages and imperfections in clothing. In the 1800’s large manufacturing
companies ended the personal cottage business. Today the buttons are an art craft and the options
are limitless. Weaving around a small ring with multiple fibers you create buttons that are used
for clothing accents, upholstery accents, jewelry, hair accessories, magnets, Christmas ornaments
and even framed art.
Tuition is $40 per student with an additional materials fee of $15 paid by cash or check to the
instructor at the time of the class.
Space is limited and pre-registration is required. Those who wish to attend MUST sign up
by Tuesday, October 1st.
