TENNEY MOUNTAIN TO OPEN FOR THE 07-08 SKI SEASON
The first phase in becoming a premier destination for year-round outdoor adventure.

Plymouth, NH—Tenney Mountain Ski Area will open for the 2007-08 season under the management of White Mountain Exploration. The projected opening date is December 15, 2007, and work is well underway to reach this goal. Customers can expect the same great things they’ve come to know and love about Tenney, as well as some exciting new additions.

This season, Tenney has revamped their food and beverage operations, bringing in a Subway restaurant. Management is focusing on excellence in snowmaking and grooming on the mountain, and new programs have been added to The Tenney Mountain Learning Center. Darcie Murdock, Director of the Learning Center says, “We’ve added some great new children’s programs including freeride lessons which will give the experienced skier or rider a chance to rip it up in the park or take on the glades with a pro. We also are offering a new preschool program, and an unbeatable weekend learn-to-ski or ride program for ages 6 to adult.”

Tenney is known for it’s down-home friendly atmosphere, affordable ticket prices, unbeatable views from the summit, and an interesting network of trails built by real skiers and riders—not an engineer at a computer.

Operating hours will be Thursday through Monday, 9am-4pm weekdays, and 8:30am-4pm on weekends and holiday periods. Tenney will continue to offer its popular snowtubing area on weekends and holiday periods from 10am-4pm, and Saturday nights throughout the season from 4-8pm.

In addition to normal ski area operations, White Mountain Exploration in cooperation with Eastern Mountain Sports has taken adventure to the next level by creating a Base Camp for the Exploration Schools of EMS. The Base Camp will bring out Tenney’s full potential and make it a four season playground for EMS customers and all outdoor enthusiasts. EMS will offer year round programs including telemark skiing, backcountry touring, snowshoeing, winter mountaineering, rock climbing, kayaking, mountain biking, and more.
