GUNSTOCK'S MOUNTAIN BIKE CENTER PRESENTS 2003 RACE SERIES
Summer Bike Racing Series Begins
Gunstock's annual Mountain Bike race series kicks off on Wednesday, June 18 at 6pm. This stimulating race series is open to all ages and abilities. Categories are broken out into Jr. Girls and Boys ages 8-15 and beginner, intermediate and expert levels. Prizes and cash awards will be given out to top finishers. The Mountain Bike course uses Gunstock's alpine setting for twists and turns over forested and mountain terrain. The distance varies with juniors doing one lap and experts doing 4 laps on the approximately 3-mile course. The series runs through August 20. Registration for the Wednesday Night Mountain Bike Series is at 5:30p each night of the race and the entry fee is $8.
A new series this year is Gunstock's Road Bike Races. Two of these bike trials have been scheduled for Tuesday, June 17 and Tuesday, July 1. Categories are broken out into Juniors 8-15, Beginners, Intermediates, and Expert. The Road Races are on a 1 mile paved loop at Gunstock. Mountain bikes will be permitted with slicks allowed. Juniors will race 5 laps and experts will compete 15 laps. Racing actions begins at 6pm sharp and registration is at 5:30p. Entry fees for the Road Race are $8.
