Just down the road in Belmont, find the Belknap Mall, the only enclosed mall north of Concord. Anchor stores include Peebles Department Store and Big Lots. Looking for something a bit more edgy? Meredith Harley Davidson/Buell and Polaris in Meredith has a huge inventory of clothing and collectibles.

Meredith Bay has long been a popular location for a variety of activities from shopping to recreation to lakeside dining and spa treatments. The Mill Falls Marketplace makes its home in a spectacularly renovated old mill building boasting exposed beams, unique woodwork and three floors of unique shops, a full service salon and five distinctive restaurants. For some unique buys, stop in at Adornments and Lady of the Lake.

Accessorize your new wardrobe at North Star Gems where you can show your creative side in their jewelry supply store with a large selection of rocks, minerals and gemstone beads as well as native American jewelry. In Ossipee, Kokopelli had made itself a destination for high quality and a large selection of contemporary and traditional South western, native American jewelry and more. The League of New Hampshire Craftsmen in Meredith, Center Sandwich and Wolfeboro features outstanding juried work of NH Artisans and traditional arts demonstrations in their retail shops.

On a Scenic Drive: The Lakes Region has long been famous for it's scenic drives along the shores of its pristine lakes, ponds and rivers. Take a peak on our Media website for detailed driving directions and maps of a few of our favorite Official New Hampshire Scenic and Cultural Byways Tours: Lakes Region Tour, Lake Sunapee Tour, River Heritage Tour, Currier and Ives Tour and the Canterbury Shaker Village Tour.

On An ATV & Off Road Tour: See the back-country on Alpine Adventure's Summer Safari - a 6-wheel drive, 11 passenger army truck or on an All Terrain Vehicle at Heritage Farm. On the Links: Spend an afternoon on one of the Lake's Region almost two dozen public golf courses and along with challenging lay, you'll also likely discover a whole new meaning for the term "water hazard." On a Lake Cruise: Explore Lake Winnipesaukee and the surrounding mountains from aboard the magestic M/S Mount Washington for a Fall Foliage Cruise. The 230 foot motor ship has a capacity of 1250 passengers making it perfect for both large gatherings and romantic cruises. The Mount offers daytime scenic cruises, event dinner dance cruises and special theme cruises. She services five ports, Weirs Beach (main port), Center Harbor, Wolfeboro, Meredith and Alton Bay.

For smaller groups, relax aboard a 21' Sea Ray Bow-Rider with Experience Squam Private Boat Excursions. Bask in the sun or stay shaded under the boat's canopy. Horseback is a great way to see the rivers, lakes, mountains and fields you wouldn't ordinarly see while driving around the region. Did you know that while on horseback you can approach deer and other wildlife without spooking them?


From the Top of a Mountain: Take in all the magesty that is the Lakes Region from one of our scenic peaks or nature walks. Did you know that the Lakes Region is surrounded by mountain ranges? The views from the Lakes Region mountain tops are like no other - water, water and more mountain ranges in every direction. Spectacular lakes, colorful river valleys, quiet ponds and quaint villages. With a Paddle: There is nothing more relazing than a quiet paddle in a canoe or kayak alone or with friends. Get up close to the region's wildlife on our lakes, rivers and ponds. Don't forget your camera! The Lakes Region has a large selection of outfits that rent, and provide shuttles for canoes, kayaks and tubes. Want lessons or to kick it up a notch?
