NH Motor Speedway to host ACT Invitational in 2009
Late-model stock car drivers will race in New Hampshire Motor Speedway's inaugural American-Canadian Tour Invitational during the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Sylvania 300 weekend next September. Ski Free at Tenny Mountain
In these times of a weak economy, White Mountain Exploration at Tenney Mountain has found a way to encourage skiers to be able to afford their winter skiing at Tenney Mountain and actually be able to be paid for it. Tenney Mountain is now introducing its Ambassador Pass Program. Tenney Mountain is now seeking 500 Ambassadors to spread the word about the great skiing at Tenney and the great adventures at White Mountain Exploration this up coming winter season.
Christmas at Canterbury - New Holiday Event
New this year, Canterbury Shaker Village presents Christmas at Canterbury, Saturday and Sunday, December 6th and 7th, 2008, from 3 pm to 8 pm. Christmas at Canterbury celebrates the Christmas of a simpler era with a candlelight stroll through the decorated historic Shaker Village. Along the way, visitors can enjoy the gingerbread house showcase and contest, musical entertainment, traditional arts demonstrations, candy making, and activities for the whole family. At the Artisan Marketplace, visitors can shop for unique, handcrafted items. Horse drawn sleigh or wagon rides will be available on Saturday, the 6th.
Christmas Dinner & Show at Church’s Landing
The Summer Theatre in Meredith Village will present a Christmas Cabaret at Church’s Landing on Thursday Evening, December 4th, at 6:00 p.m. The event will begin with a plated dinner followed by a floor show entitled “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas”, a collection of holiday songs form the stage and screen.
Science Center Welcomes New Facilities Director
The Squam Lakes Natural Science Center is pleased to welcome Tim Curry as its new Facilities Director. As Facilities Director, Curry will be responsible for the creation and installation of new exhibits, maintenance and upkeep of existing exhibits and trails, all land management of the 200 acre Science Center campus, and oversight of all building systems and facilities.
Tickets for High School Musical!
Tickets are now on sale for Disney’s HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL Live Onstage. The show is being produced by The Summer Theatre in Meredith Village at the Interlakes Region High School Auditorium from November 20th-23rd.
Great Waters Music Festival Names New Executive Director
(The Lakes Region: Wolfeboro --) Carol Holyoake, former Director of the Wolfeboro Chamber of Commerce, has been named as the new Executive Director of the Great Waters Music Festival.

New owner, Anne Deli, says “We plan to create an iconic, destination dealership here in Meredith. The name Laconia is instantly recognized worldwide as the oldest motorcycle rally in America as well as one of the largest. It is first among the storied Big Four Rallies that comprise the major annual motorcycle events that send chills of anticipation and excitement down the spines of enthusiasts everywhere. Our dealership is very much central to this ‘Mecca of Motorcycling’ event.” Deli continues, “It is this spirit and enthusiasm we hope to capture year-round. Of course, our adoption of the name should help us build even greater awareness and attendance for Laconia Motorcycle Week. What better way to advertise than to have riders from around the world wearing our Laconia Harley-Davidson tee-shirts?”
"New Animal Day" Nov. 22 at the Squam Lakes Natural Science Center
The Squam Lakes Natural Science Center is holding a very special "New Animal Day" with reduced admission rates on Saturday, November 22 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (last admission at 2:30 p.m.). The Science Center's typical trail season ends on November 1, but the timing of the arrival of a couple of new animals prompted a special "post-season" opening. Visitors on November 22 will get to see a new six-month old Bobcat, a new seven-month old Coyote and a new adult White-tailed Deer.

The past week with snow landing on Cannon Mountain and Mount Lafayette, really got many folks fired up around here for winter. Even without the snow, we have many reasons to rejoice - seven, specifically. They were generated from the recently released SKI Magazine reader's poll rankings. We scored BIG with the people for a second year in a row and here are the accolades:
